i. Introduction
The worldwide web is also a major resource for those embarking on research and the following is a comprehensive guide to sites relevant to Irish military history, as of June 2003. Where possible, it has been noted where a website is that of an institution or official body, or the work of an enthusiast, which may be less authoritative. It is also important to note that unofficial web sites often change address or simply disappear without notice. These sites provide a gateway to other relevant sources.
